I Can't Believe We're Not Better' Theatre Company was founded in 2000, when three members of a Drama Therapy Group at the Schrodells
Unit WGH wanted to take it further. They started to meet and rehears outside of the Unit. The group began to grow and 'I Can't
Believe We're not better' was born. the Company's first production was 'Sweeneys Flight' written by Seamus Heaney, which was performed
at The Schrodells Unit for the patients and staff.
I Can't Believe We're Not Better' Theatre Company has been producing
high quality theatre and workshops for ten years.The company specialises in the exploration of mental health care
winning
awards and praise for its innovative work in educating audiences
about the impact of mental illnesses.
All members of the company have
a connection with the mental health services be it ;- service user, carer, support worker or staff. Through their experiences with
mental health the company produces workshops that use drama, discussion and question and answer sessions.
We have worked closely
with schools and universities in developing workshops
that are unique to students and teacher's needs.
Recent partnerships have been
with Holyrood Roman Catholic Primary School,
Ralph Sadlier Middle School, South Bank University and Uniersity of Hertfordshire.
We have
also developed educational sessions for Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Trust.
